Life Experiences

The long term benefits of sunscreen have been proved by scientists, whereas the rest of my advice has no basis more reliable than my own meandering experience…

I will dispense this advice now.

Have I mentioned.....

...how much we love living here?

I hated that dinosaur.  The 52" projection TV that DH bought for himself several years ago. It is huge, unwieldy, heavy and fugly. I PLEADED with him not to bring it to Hawaii.

I lost the "discussion."  So I have ....perhaps not so subtly....been broaching the subject of a flat screen wall mounted tv. I casually wander through the electronics section at Wally World. I turn up the volume on Tv "TV" commercials.

So, where did I leave off....

Yeah, it's been a busy few months, so here's some catch up:

Wedding was wonderful....I already told you that.

We bought a new car.....and then Toyota recalled all Rav4's (among others....). Fortunately (I suppose) Hawaii actually gets its Toyotas from Japan, and Japan-built cars are not included. So our brand-new 2010 Rav4 is NOT being recalled. Good thing, since the Equinox is still in the shop getting fixed. We hope.

When you can't rent....buy

So, when there are no rental cars available, and you don't know how long it will take to fix (or if it can even be fixed) one's car, one buys.

Lest we forget

Last Sunday was All Saints Day.  It was tradition at Faith Lutheran in Elko for us to write the names of those who had died during the year, and Pastor would read the names and offer prayers during the service.

It then became my own tradition to remember my patients who had died during the year.  I kept a list and those were the names I would write during the service.

These are a few of my favorite things....

Ok, so it's an easy way to create a blog....but I've been a bit busy lately.

Anyway, I've found some great links recently. Musicians, movies....and I'd like to share them.

"Sita sings the blues" is an indie animated movie (loosely) based on story of the Indian god Rama and his wife Sita. To quote DS: "Heart breaking genius...that's all!"
