DS sent me an email today titled "today I learned...." and told a story about his cat's behaviour....and what it means.

I'm afraid I didn't respond with the enthusiasm he imagined when I responded "today I learned that I'm too damned old for all this physical labor..."

Yes, I can list the "priceless" commercial:

“You can always identify a kidney stone patient!”  I remember the lecture as if it were yesterday. “They writhe...they can't sit still, they can't find a position of comfort.”

Well, after the Tsunami alert was lifted, DS and DDL came over for cards and food. In a role reversal,  they brought US new toys--an new Wii Resort game with new controllers. They brought along their own controllers and we joined in a family game of bowling.

Remember the movie "Christmas Story?"  Ralphie lusted after a Daisy BB gun, and all the adults brushed him off with the admonition "You'll poke yer eyes out..."

You know what it's like at Superbowl time....it's February. The wind is blowing, it's cold and everyone sits in the basement or den and cheers on their team.

Well, not everybody.  We spent the day on the lanai at the home of friends in Puna.  Tv on the deck, pupu on the table, tradewinds blowing a gentle breeze....

Beats any other Superbowl party I've ever been to. Now, if only my team had won, too, it would have been a perfect day!

Yeah, it's been a busy few months, so here's some catch up: 

Wedding was wonderful....I already told you that.

We bought a new car.....and then Toyota recalled all Rav4's (among others....). Fortunately (I suppose) Hawaii actually gets its Toyotas from Japan, and Japan-built cars are not included. So our brand-new 2010 Rav4 is NOT being recalled. Good thing, since the Equinox is still in the shop getting fixed. We hope.
