DH has been after me to do something about it. "It" being all the fruit. Papaya, strawberry guava, lilikoi (passionfruit),guava, pineapple, citrus, jaboticoba, banana.
It's falling and making a mess all over the lawn. We can't keep up with it, and like tomato and zucchini time in the midwest, friends avoid us when they see us carrying bags of the surplus.
"Why don't you make some wine?" he asked.

I mailed it today: the payoff check for the second mortgage on our house. The prior owner carried a portion of our mortgage, a process which allowed us to get this property in the first place.
Today, we paid it off.

We are transforming our yard into living space. We finished most of the deck in time for the wedding, but half of it was still not covered by roof.
DH has been working on that part, and the entire deck, except for a 16' x 5' strip of strange roof lines, is now covered.
For our anniversary, he bought us a set of patio furniture, which nearly (tho not exactly...) matches the dining set we bought when we moved in.

I first started doing it when i was seventeen. Church services on Wednesday night, Sunday morning and Sunday night. Later, in a bar 5 or 6 nights a week.
Years of weekend gigs and weddings at the Elks, or Moose...or VFW halls.
Followed by years of leading a church band. And filling in for the "real" church organist for vacation and weekends off.
So after 40.....yes, forty!....years of playing the organ in various venues, why do I STILL have nightmares about it when I substitute for the church organist.
June 06th
....weekend.
Well, three days off, anyway. I have been working longer hours to help pay for our new road, our refurbished catchment system and to help out a sick co-worker.
We have now entered the dry season here, so we were grateful to have a few un-rainy days to drain, paint, re-line, refill and re-cover the water tank, but now we need rain to fill it! And there hasn't been any. All week. None.
