HI - Hilo, Hilo International Airport
We've been working (hard) to get ready for the wedding this weekend.
DH finished the deck so we now have a nice, covered area in which to gather and celebrate.

The food and drinks are bought. The tent and additional deck temporary tarp cover are arranged for. The yard has been mowed, weed-eated, de-pooped (um, dogs and cats, you know...).
The guest house is clean, the small fridge in there is stocked with snacks and drinks, there are fresh linens on the bed.
All is ready.....except rain. Now, I know I've said (on numerous occasions...) that it rains daily here. Well, I lied. When El Nino (the Pacific weather pattern) is in effect, it causes very wet and snowy/rainy conditions on the mainland....but NONE here-it has not rained a drop for three weeks.
Great!.....one might think......a nice sunny day for a wedding! True, except that our water supply....is the rain! Our 15,000 catchment tank is connected to tubes which connect to gutters which connect to all the roof surfaces...to collect rain.
Now, DH and I can certainly stretch the water if needed.....we might not ..um....flush...as often. We can fill our water bottles at the county spigot or from the machine at Wally World.
But, when four houseguests want to take showers.....and flush....and when 85 wedding guests want to use the facilites....that tank will empty REAL quick! So I have been getting nervous and praying for rain.
DH, knowing the grass needs cutting (he finished it yesterday)....and weedeating needs tweaking (he's been doing it in bits and spurts)...and various and sundry other yard work needs doing (it's a never-ending job), DOES NOT want it to rain.
I win. This morning I woke to the sound of a gully washer-so far about 3" has fallen. Enough to flush in comfort.
Let the wedding commence!!
