DS and DDL cooked a great dinner to celebrate DH's birthday (this Wednesday). DDL showed off her new $.01 phone, received from Amazon in a a special promotion. It was very cute, and I was very jealous......
.....and since I am up for an upgrade.....
.....I toddled off to Amazon and perused their cell phones. And I found what I wanted. And I added it to my cart. And I picked minutes plan...and added it to my cart. And found a service plan.....and tried to add it to my account. And nothing happened.

One of the (many) murder mystery series that I read is "On ....day the Rabbi...." by Harry Kemmelman.
Monday...slept late
Tuesday....went hungry....etc.
They are fun, quick reads (I never read "heavy" when trying to pass time at work...), and I like the setting of a Rabbi in a synagogue, as I learn about a different culture and religion.

....after all, I do still need to hunker down and finish the taxes.
....and gather the ingredients to make dessert for the potluck on Sunday
.....and pick and practice hymns for the day I have to substitute as the church organist.
....so I shouldn't, really.
And I have to take pictures to submit to the Boys/Girls club auction for the guest house week I'm donating...

.....wear diapers.
We have been watching the Merry Monarch Festival on PBS. The festival started in 1964 as a way to preserve and promote the knowledge and practice of Hula.
In the last few years, Kumu Hula (performed by men) has become more popular.
The facial expressions, leg and arm movements and body slapping depict the ferocious warriors and explorers that the hula represents.

The mynah birds are smart little critters....They are great imitators, and can be taught to speak even better than a parrot.
And they are all around us. They follow after DH cuts the grass, eating the choice tender roots that have been exposed.
Recently, they have taken up bowling.
I first noticed that a few of them would congregate on our roof. It was easy to know they were there, because their sideways hop across our metal roof created quite a racket.
